More Than a Family Matter: Domestic violence affects everyone in the household, in addition to having reverberations throughout society.  Children can’t concentrate in school because they worry for the safety of their parents.  Teens find themselves in unhealthy relationships at a young age for lack of a healthy example.  Adults are less productive on the job and have higher rates of absenteeism when intimate relationships are a source of stress and fear.  Domestic violence is not confined to the home – the repercussions of relationship abuse have the ability to slowly eat away a community.
