In recognition of Teen Self-Esteem Month, DVC’s Empowerment Movement Youth Leadership Project is sponsoring the I AM! Exhibit.
This creative arts exhibit is open to teens ages 13 to 19. Submissions must be work expressing your sense of self–esteem. Work will be accepted in any medium including poetry, visual arts, prose, music, crafting, metal arts, woodworking or video.
Accepted work will be displayed May 3 through May 20, 2012. A reception, featuring visual work and performances, will be held on Sunday, May 20 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Columbia Association Art Center. The Art Center is located at 6100 Foreland Garth, Columbia MD, 21045.

Literary Submissions
Prose: (includes essays) should be double-spaced and not exceed 3,500 words
Poetry: submissions are limited to 4 poems

Visual Art

Biographical Statement Guidelines
All submissions must include a brief (50 words or less) biographical statement with your work. Your statement may reflect a comment on your work, where you live, your age, school, hobbies, and aspirations.
